Noah’s Helping Hands Project was started in memory of our son, Noah John Hannon, who came into this world silently on June 8, 2021. Noah was born at 39 weeks and unfortunately we still do not know what caused him to pass away. He weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz., had the most perfectly soft skin, and surprisingly a lot of dark, wavy hair.
Noah is missed every second of every day, especially by his big sister Addie. Experiencing such a tragic event opened our eyes and hearts to being more purposeful with the time we have in this world. Our mission is to strengthen our community by helping people in need and improving the lives of families in the Western New York area.
We do this through donations to the Amherst Central School District for low-income families needing assistance. We work with the social workers at each of the four schools to identify what the students need most at two different times of the year; the start of school and Christmastime. We use the funds we raise to purchase items such as school supplies, hats, gloves, socks, grocery gift cards, and hygiene products. With the rising costs of almost everything, we are so grateful to be able to support these children and families.
This year, we are also partnering with Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital to help give back to the infant loss community. We will provide each family that experiences a loss at their hospital with a “Kindness Kit”. These kits will include items that we felt supported by during our darkest days. We hope to continue growing our project so that we can include Oishei Children’s Hospital next year.
